Olmaia by Federico Signorelli was born in Tuscany along the Italian coast. It creates charming and elegant garments inspired by different, mainly Oriental, old cultures and traditions, and it is a luxurious alternative to the usual commercial swimwear that everyone can find around.
All the prints are selected and adapted to the style and shape of the swim shorts and the collections are inspired by different cultures and places visited by the designer (such as Indonesia, India and Italy).
STYLE & TOUCH:
These bathing suits are characterized by a classic shorts style and a very comfortable wearability. The style changes because of the two materials used: 100% Italian cotton and one of the latest water-specialized materials.
A rattan twine from Borneo, bind and sewed in Bali; local clothing for the internal lining; varnishing to recall the color of the sand.
The buttons are extracted from shells that come from Indonesia and Malaysia, especially from Java and Bali, and they are called Lola, Isiree and Akoia.
The shell is carefully cut leaving the under-crust patterns as raw and natural as possible, and it is polished and refined to stand out the colors.
Every single button is different from the others therefore there are no pieces alike for colors or patterns; this makes every bathing suit a unique piece with its own fingerprint.
According with the colors and the prints of the swim shorts, the designer Federico personally selects each button to create the most beautiful match.
Federico thought it was important to add another small detail to delight all his costumers even more: some "Ambra Nera" essence's drops put into the packaging to avoid the neutral and industrial dull smell.
FINAEST.COM chose OLMAIA because it s the best in making water specialized cloths, combining the Italian handcraft knowhow with the rare patterns coming from different Oriental cultures.
