DELLA CIANA

Della Ciana established in 1978 in the neighborhood of Perugia, in the small village of Santa Maria Rossa. Right from the start, the quality of materials and workmanship were of the highest standards and the knitwear was an immediate success in Italian audience.

The first ten years saw the company in continual growth and a wider project was already underway: reaching quality excellence through the implementation of new production techniques and a better knowledge of raw materials, as well as a focused acknowledgement of international markets dynamics. In the late 80s Della Ciana felt ready to make the big leap into the higher end of the market: since then cashmere and fine yarns items have been the company core business.

This growth have been a formula which has combined traditional nature of cashmere with advanced manufacturing technologies able to keep that sense of uniqueness, so typical of handcraft methods. The great care lavished on details and finishing touches, next to the perfect fit and combination of colours nowadays complete the description of a high quality product.

Not only "Made in Italy" products, Della Ciana's should be labeled "Made in Umbria", as specified in the guarantee certificate attached to each item. The connection with Umbria is crucial for two different reasons: on one hand, because it is here where all the production phases take place. On the other, Umbria has a deeply-rooted and long tradition in wool manufacturing going back to Etruscan times. Even St. Francis' father, named Bernardone da Assisi, was a well-known wool and garment merchant.

Finaest. com chose Della Ciana because it comes from a long tradition which continues today with costant search for beauty and use of noble fibers, combined with imagination and creativity of its designers.
